Parking Regulations Reminder

Dear Commercial Vehicle Operators,

We are writing to remind all operators of commercial vehicles within New Bethlehem Borough of the parking regulations outlined in Ordinance 934, Section 475-20, Subsection D. It has come to our attention that there have been instances of non-compliance with these regulations, leading to concerns within the community.

According to Ordinance 934, specifically Section 475-20, Subsection D, it is unlawful to park any vehicle other than passenger cars, vans, motorcycles, and pickup trucks in metered or unmetered parking lots within the borough. The ordinance clearly states: “The metered and unmetered parking lots shall be for the use of passenger cars, vans, motorcycles and pickup trucks only, and it shall be unlawful for any person to park any other kind or class of vehicle in any such lot.”

The borough has received several concerns from residents regarding various types of commercial vehicles being parked in prohibited areas, including but not limited to school buses in the municipal parking lot, 18-wheelers along Water Street, and UPS and FedEx trucks in several business parking lots around town. Such violations not only inconvenience other motorists but also pose safety hazards and disrupt the smooth flow of traffic.

We would like to emphasize that these parking regulations are in place to ensure the safety and convenience of all residents and visitors within New Bethlehem Borough. Therefore, we kindly request all commercial vehicle operators to adhere strictly to these regulations.

Please note that violations of Ordinance 934 will be strongly enforced. Any infractions will be subject to penalties as prescribed by law. We urge anyone witnessing violations to report them to the Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department at 814.275.1180 or via email at [email protected].

Thank you for your cooperation in helping to maintain order and safety within our community.
